Why I'm Chasing the In-Between This Year

I spent sixteen years behind a camera learning how to make people look good. Now I'm learning how to make them feel seen.

This year, I'm doing something that terrifies the business coach in my head: I'm listening. Not to trends, not to what "sells," not to the algorithm. To the quiet thing that's been saying more for a while now. More light. More breath. More of the moments that don't pose—they just happen.

The space I'm making

I built a new corner of my work called Ethereally Yours. It's not boudoir. It's not "I do." It's love in all its forms—engagements, generations, a woman alone in her power on a beach at dawn—shot through the same lens: soft, whimsical, weightless. The images that stop me cold. The ones that feel like they might dissolve if you blink.

Each session comes with something I never offered before: art pieces chosen by me. Not because I don't trust your taste, but because after sixteen years, I finally trust mine. I know which frame holds the magic. I want you to hold it too.

What changed

I got tired of good enough. I got tired of shot lists and stiff shoulders and performing connection for a camera. I want the in-between. The laugh that breaks because someone said something stupid. The hand that reaches without asking. The wind doing half the work.

This is the year I make images that are less about what you look like and more about what you feel like in the moment you forgot I was there.

If this is your year too

Maybe you're not a photographer. Maybe you're just someone who finally has the guts to say: I want my life, my love, my story—captured like art. Not documentation. Art.

If that's you, I'm here. The light is good. The water's fine. And I finally know exactly where to stand.

Ethereally yours, Abena .
